The
charges that we make from time to time under this Scheme
are fixed in a way that accords with the provision of
the Water Industry Acts 1991 and 1999 and, where applicable,
with the terms of the Companys Instrument of Appointment.
The
charges are designed to reflect the cost of the Companys
operations and ensure that they are able to be maintained
and financed in the long term, taking into account both
price cap regulations and the public service nature
of the Companys water supply obligations, including
Government policies in that regard.
The
charges have, where applicable, been approved by the
Director General of Water Services.
The
charges detailed in this leaflet come into effect
on 1 April 2007 and are fully explained in Parts
2 and 3.
The
person responsible for payment of our charges is the
occupier of the premises, or anyone to whom supply of
service is made available, unless the owner who is not
the occupier, or another third party, has accepted liability
for those charges by agreement with the Company or as
required by any later provision in this or the law.
The Company normally requires such agreements to be
in writing.
